My Very Own Captain Lou Albano

After some noodles, I was back in my room, wide awake. Kev texted me in the middle of the night, wide awake himself. Neither of us could sleep as we were still processing it all. Advocate Kev admitted later to wanting to throw up when we first entered the dome. It’s all nerve-wracking for him, too. However, you old-school fans may appreciate how Kev always tries to break the tension, asking such things as ‘I wonder if Captain Lou (Albano) felt this way when managing Mr. Fuji and Masa Saito.’ Or he’ll show me promos of Captain Lou ‘speaking’ Japanese or the ‘guiding light’ hailing the Japanese race as ‘the superior race.’ Kev is a proud, self-proclaimed mark with an admitted 1978 fan perspective on wrestling. It’s a nice alternative to the Tom, Dick, and Harrys of today who know the craft inside and out – or at least think they do. Anyhow, here’s to you, Captain Lou!
