One of the many treats during our week in England was Tony Khan inviting us to the owner’s box for his Fulham Soccer team’s opening game. We enjoyed sushi and drinks there and even got to hang out with Karen Jarret. Karen is always so upbeat and supportive, and I have always been a huge fan of hers! It was nice to see her and snap a few pics. This was also my very first futbol/soccer game, and the crowd was amazing: so electric and so energetic. The way they cheer and recite chants in unison is so akin to wrestling crowds and served as the perfect warm-up for All In. From what I heard, Fulham is a team that has been struggling. However, with me being there, I brought them the luck they needed to win their opening game. So you can expect me to be at all openings for Tony. Wink, wink. Jacksonville Jaguars, here I come.
After the match, I did the media scrum. There I was taken back by a personal question that didn’t pertain to wrestling. This is Wrestle Press, after all, not Page Six or US Weekly. Still, I answered honestly while trying to have some fun. But if I can put things to rest, on the subject of my divorce, my ex and I are still friends and will always be friends. When I said I finally felt free, it wasn’t that I was or needed to be free from him. It was that I needed to be free to answer questions honestly in interviews when asked about my relationship. It was so hard to be put on the spot when they did as I didn’t want to lie. However, when things were finally settled and out in the public I was free to express the truth hence my saying it was nice to be free.
Right after the press conference it was so great to see my old friend Brie Garcia. Brie was there with her two children, and she could not have looked and been happier. Beautiful as ever, inside and out, she is loving life outside the ring and as a mom. I love seeing wrestlers succeed and live fulfilled lives, especially women. We will definitely be in better touch now.
Tony Khan and Prince Nana: The All In After Parties
After the match, Tony threw us a great after party. There, we had a quick drink, said some hellos then headed out to support none other than Prince Nana who was Dj-ing at a venue, nearby. I was there for five minutes to hang out with the wrestling fans and jam with Nana before heading back to the hotel to hang out with Tony and other AEW superstars. There it was great to decompress as Tony said it was the best All In we have ever done.
Honestly, the week of prep for All In kind of felt the same as Mania. However, when you’re prepping for WrestleMania, you’re kind of worn down by the time you get to the big day, as each day is stacked with press and events. The big difference is that the WWE is in town for a whole week during their event, where we’re not in the UK yet. I’m not sure what press and events we will be doing next week, but I’ll be sure to do as much as I can to ensure this is promoted as much as possible.
I’m sure I’ll go without sleep for part of it, but it comes with the turf. A lot of times in WWE, by the day of WrestleMania, a lot of the boys and girls would be so tired, like I said, but by match time, the adrenaline would kick in. The fan screaming and cheering wakes you up.
