Right after the game, I flew straight to New York City for an epic media day promoting Grand Slam and celebrating AEW’s 5-year anniversary. From the moment I landed, it was non-stop. We hit major outlets like The Breakfast Club, Barstool, and Daily Mail. Meeting Charlemagne tha God was surreal—I’ve watched him since I was a teen! Chatting with him about wrestling was a full-circle moment. He’s known for intense interviews, but with me, he and his co-hosts were chill. Wrestling seemed new to him, and it was fun to see his interest spark. It was a great experience, and I’m sure we’ll meet again!
Press days can be exhausting but also exciting—especially when I meet new people like Charlemagne. I love introducing non-wrestling fans to the sport I’m passionate about. As a woman, it’s fun seeing guys’ reactions when they learn I’ve been doing this for 14 years, am a champion, and love it! It’s also cool to reconnect with familiar hosts. The guys at WFAN always tease me for being a Boston fan, but they make it fun. In our business, you need all the friends you can get, especially as a woman.
One of my favorite stops was Barstool Sports, where I met Frank the Tank. His story of losing over 200 lbs. by walking around NYC was truly inspiring. Fans love him, and I could see why. He was so sweet, and doing a walk-and-talk interview through NYC was actually fun.
The day ended at Complex with Hot Ones, where you either answer tough questions or eat insanely hot wings. Let’s just say I ate more wings than I planned to avoid some of those tricky questions!
