Britt, Kamille and On Air Gimmick Parings

So here I am, finally at this year’s All In as the face of AEW, a history-making double champion, no less (fully aware my old guy podcasters will have a field day with that). To top it off, I’m going against Dr. Britt Baker, a fellow pioneer and history maker, as the first-ever woman signed to AEW. Besides being an incredible performer, Britt laid the groundwork and foundation for this ever-evolving women’s division, and that’s something not to be taken lightly.

Charlotte, Bayley, Becky, AEW, and Phase Two of the Women’s Revolution?

Britt, me, and the rest of the girls are just getting started. Yes, Charlotte, Bayley, Becky, and I led phase one of the women’s revolution. We disrupted the business in the best and most necessary way. But with me coming here, I promise that another disruption to the business of women’s wrestling is coming. Phase Two is just getting started.

On that note, there are three women’s matches at All In. THREE. When Mania was one night, how many women’s matches were there? Not three. Moreover, when the guys’ matches went too long in WWE, it was the women’s matches that got cut for time.

I love what I see of Kamille thus far and see such a huge upside with this girl. Tony Khan nailed it by signing her and with his decision to assign her to me and make her my bodyguard. It enhances and takes the pressure off, but with Kamille, I’m telling you she is just scratching the surface. This girl is going to be one of the all time greats. And trust that I’m going to do everything I can to help get her there. The other night, Kamille pulled me aside and said “I know we don’t know each other that well but I want you to know that I legit have your back and if you ever need help with your brother, I’m here.” It was such a nice moment, and while she doesn’t need me, Kev, or Team Moné, she legit has 100 percent of us to lean on. For now, just keep watching her. You’ll be glad you did.

In wrestling, it was cool how DX and Kliq were real-life friends. Their friendship created a huge and necessary disruption of their own. Back to Kamille, from the word go I had planned on doing all I could to elevate her, no matter how we got along. However, even though we are just getting to know one another, I feel we already have a bond.

The funny thing about wrestling and wrestling stories is how often we get paired with tag team partners, managers, valets, or even bodyguards like Kamille. Often, it truly is just a gimmick. At best, you have a good working relationship. Sometimes, wrestlers who are paired don’t even get along but happen to make magic when they work together. Isn’t that the same with actors on TV shows and in movies? We all want to think they are close in real life when, most of the time, it’s just a job like any other. And sometimes they dislike one another, though you’d believe otherwise on screen.
