The Fight

This week, I have only one word for you, but it’s a big one: la Lucha… translation “the fight.” The fight to survive, the fight to not give up, and the fight to make it out on top on the other side.

This last week, that very fight encompassed, first and foremost, my family’s lives. As we have discussed before, my brother’s health was of concern, and he had been rushed to the emergency room; after several days in the hospital in Orlando, we made the decision to transfer him back home to his doctors in Boston. This was quite a daunting task as my brother had become quite physically drained. It wouldn’t have been possible for him to drive the whole 18 hours as we did before from Orlando to Boston, nor would it have been best for him to fly commercially – that’s too many people and way too much chaotic energy for someone who needs calm healing energy. So we quickly took a private jet, and the staff was so incredibly nurturing to our circumstances; they took their time assisting us with getting Joshua loaded up and were right there to help us get him out of the plane smoothly and effectively. From there, we drove straight to the hospital, where he is now thriving. That was round one of this fight, the fight to survive.

Now for round two, the fight to not give up… this goes beyond family. I’ve been fighting all my life and wouldn’t be where I am today if I had given up when the going gets tough. My message to you all is I know how hard it gets, but you are here for a reason. You have a purpose. You have power, and as my beloved Krew members, I expect you to be standing by my side throughout this lifetime, which means you can’t give up on yourself either. Ya hear me? I’m rooting for you too.

Leaving us with the knockout round, round three, the fight to make it out on top on the other side… this is no easy feat, I know. This week showed me that although I am well-versed in defying the odds and conquering everything, I set forth to achieve. That does not make it any less scary than it is for anyone else. The major difference this last week had on my personal growth and development in my journey is how I was able to not only get out on the other side but also master the fear that comes with stepping through the unknown, transmuting that energy, and mastering it for your highest good. I know every one of us is capable of this, so with that, I leave you with my sincerest gratitude.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you for your continued prayers for Joshua and your support.

P.S. Let’s not forget to mention fighting the clock; you guys saw my outfit at the Celtics game, right!? You have no idea how little time I had to pull that together, but man, was it worth it! I feel so blessed to be from the city of champions and to have been present for such a phenomenal game alongside Auntie Maria and Donny Wahlberg. Celtics, I love you through and through! The fight was well worth it, and I will forever cherish our time and to have also gotten to kick it with Stephan A. Smith; I can’t picture a better night to be a Bostonian
